USKid teach Chinese kids one-on-one and pay between $17 to $28 but max is $26 upon starting. They are looking for people with North American neutral accents, a degree and familiarity with the US teaching system.
USKid write that they are an emerging online learning platform-venture backed by Baidu – China’s Google apparently.
Classes read slow to come by, may take a few weeks but worth getting foot in door. One reviewer who worked both at VIPKid and here favours USKid by some margin. Perks highlighted include much smaller company so more personal rapport with them, plus they don’t penalize you for petty infractions.
For online teaching the pay is pretty decent: Group classes pay more so a 30min online classroom translates into $16.50 or $33 per hour.
Still, classes are hard to come by so for a full-time income online you may need to have your finger in a few more pies.
A degree is mandatory (an ESL isn’t necessary) and they currently have between 200 to 500 teachers on their books but the inconsistent scheduling/bookings are a constant dissatisfaction on Glassdoor.
