Reviews are hard to come by. Seems HelloKid are a small home based online teaching business that employ native and non-native teachers and do in fact pay the same rate which is extremely rare. A degree doesn’t appear necessary also given that you are not asked to upload this when you apply.
On the positives, payment is good, bookings are regular and the kids are pleasant. Staff are kind and professional enough to handle problems – one of the perks you’d imagine from a smaller sized business and mostly on the teachers side when issues arise.
Negatives include the pay rate (it ain’t great some say though base rate of $15 isn’t too shabby); tardiness was raised on the ladys’ part conducting the interviews and there aren’t enough classes, plus you must be based at home, presumably more settled surroundings are required as opposed to a nomad in a coffee shop. You also can’t decide which hours to work.
Commentators have stated both native and non-native speakers are paid the exact same rate, which is virtually unheard of – $15 per hr.
